Good morning. Spirit wants me to discuss auras today. It's a big topic, so I'll start with an introduction for those who are not familiar with auras. I am not certain at what point in my life I started to see auras, but I certainly recall the many times they distracted me while I was in meetings at work. I would be focusing on the person speaking and then I would start to see colours around their heads along with bright spirit orbs within their aura letting me know of their presence. I would have to work very hard not to be distracted by them, so that I could pay attention to what the person was saying. I would deliberately blink them away so as to stay focused on the meeting at hand. It's similar when I'm visiting with a particular friend who is not spiritual and does not believe in anything beyond the physical. I often see green surrounding his head, and I have to make a concerted effort to not pay attention to it while in the midst of a conversation. I also see spirit orbs around him as well, but since he does not believe in the continuous existence of the soul, he would not believe that his father is with him. Hopefully, in time, he will be ready for such messages. In the meantime, I keep this information to myself since it's unsolicited. People are not the only ones who have auras. In fact, I first started seeing auras around the more-than-human species such as rocks, trees, and other objects long before I saw auras around people. I don't see colours around more-than-humans though; I just see a white halo. This demonstrated to me that they all have a life force, and perhaps that is why I see the entire world as imbued with spirit.
What is an aura?
Have you ever met a stranger whose vibe gave you a bad feeling, or conversely, someone whose presence made you feel good? Can you tell, upon meeting someone, whether you will like them? If so, you were probably feeling their aura. An aura is simply our energy field, and we all have one (even stones as I wrote above). It consists of several layers, or sheaths, that permeate and surround your physical body. If we look back to ancient India and China, we learn that they were aware of this invisible substance that animates your body and gives life to the cosmos. This life energy is known as prana. In ancient Greece, aura means "breath of air" or "breeze" to denote the life force that is breathed into one's being. Prana is a Sanskrit word that is difficult to translate, but broken down, it means "moving or breathing forward" although it's taken as meaning the life force in the entire universe. Prana is the energy I saw in the trees and stones as well as humans. It's the power in all beings and all things and is essential to all life in the universe.
Your aura, or energy field, is a rainbow of colours that change according to your moods, thoughts, and health; however, your life colour is the biggest aura in your field and is more consistent. I have often found that colours I'm attracted to are dominant in my aura at the time, so these change as circumstances in my life change. This may not be so with everyone (being attracted to your aura's colours), but I know that's the case for me. For those of you who grew up in certain religions, you will have seen Jesus or other saints depicted with halos around their heads. I always believed this was their auras, and because they were ascended masters, their auras shone brightly in brilliant hues of gold or white.
What do the colours symbolize?
I've taken classes and done research about the meaning of different colours of our auras, and I have to say it varies but there are some commonalities. Over the decades and through personal experience, I have landed on my own symbolism as is common with psychics and mediums, but I think it aligns with many others' views on auras. It's important to note that the shade of a certain colour could have an entirely different meaning. For instance, green has always conveyed healing, balance, growth, and prosperity to me which I believe is consistent with what others believe as well, but a muddy green can symbolize jealousy, selfishness, insecurity, or treachery. Here is a very basic overview of the main colours and their meanings:
Bright red: vitality, passion, sexual, love, determination
Dark red: selfishness, high temper, hurriedness, impulsive, childish
Muddy red: anger, hatred, greed
Bright pink: unconditional love, kindness, compassion, artistic
Muddy pink: lustfulness, childish emotions, unkindness, needs to be rejuvenated
Bright orange: optimism, self-confidence, emotional balance, health, mover and shaker, creativity
Muddy orange: laziness, apathy, indifference, selfish pride, nervousness
Bright gold: wisdom, attunement with God or the Source, healing,
Muddy gold: weak will, fear, timidity
Bright green: healing, love, balance harmony, growth, loving service, faith
Muddy green: envy, jealousy, treachery, selfishness, possessiveness, deceit
Bright blue: tranquility, healer, spirituality, devotion, loyalty, integrity
Muddy blue: laziness, self-centeredness, dependency, indifference
Bright purple: devoted to spirit, psychic, higher perception, divine wisdom,
Muddy purple: religious fervor, fanaticism, overbearing
Bright violet: connection with God or the source, divine wisdom, spiritual attunement
Muddy violent: religious fervor, fanaticism, self-hatred, fantasy, ungrounded
Bright White: purity, angelic, oneness with higher self, God realization
Dirty White: lack of mental and physical harmony, drug use, disease
Black: Some people see black as having some positive qualities such as rest and relaxation or stillness, but I see it more in a negative light in someone's aura. It often means to me hatred, darkness of their intent, malice, illness, gloom.
Clear Brown: hard working, strength, reliability, earthiness, scientific, practical
Muddy Brown: negativity, stubbornness, rigidity
Grey: not feeling well, getting ready to transition to the other side, energy not good
Magenta-connection to animals
Silver-angelic, spirit guides
Which colour do you think you have in your aura? Have you ever seen an aura around yourself or others?
Here is a book I recommend that goes into much deeper depth about auras: "The Power of Auras" by Susan Shumsky.
