Love Again

In deciding what to write this week, I thought I would try something different and consult my oracle cards. I begin the process by first doing a brief meditation then deep breathing. I sing a short song to raise my vibrations and call in angels. This song was taught to me by a Spiritualist Minister whose class I attended for a couple of years. I ask my Spirit team if there is a message in the cards that they wish for me to share with you. I shuffle the deck and see if any card falls out. Today, the love card fell out. I thought, "I already wrote about love," but when I went inward, Spirit insisted this is the topic that we need right now. "It's always a good time to talk about love," they said. Given the state of what is happening in our world, they certainly are right. The Love card is from one of my favourite oracle decks, Sacred Destiny by Denise Linn (2019). Here is what the card says:
Roses are a universal symbol of love. The rose was associated with Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty. It was also thought to represent truth; in Roman times a rose was hung in meeting places with the understanding that only the truth could be spoken under the rose. In many Indigenous nations, a wild rose is a powerful symbol of life. Some nations believed that wild roses were protection, so they kept them in their homes. A wild rose, as opposed to a domesticated rose, is considered to represent a love that is wild and free without bounds. It blossoms all summer and is beloved by bees and butterflies.
When this card is selected, it is telling you that love is all around you and more love is coming into your life. You are already more cherished than you could possibly know. Indeed you are a sacred vessel for love to flow through you when you stand in the centre of it all. All is well, no matter what is happening around you. You know that you are loved and are lovable, You know that there is nothing that you need to do to deserve love. You are enough, just as you are. The Creator is love, and in the depth of your soul, you are love. In matters of the heart and romance, all is healing or is already healed. In terms of self-love, your confidence and self-esteem are growing as you take time to cherish and care for yourself.
The card is a good reminder that we are loved no matter what is happening in our lives. So many people, right now, feel alone and unloved, but I can promise you that you are not alone or unloved at all. There are beautiful souls in the spirit world that love you unconditionally and are always with you. I see them; I hear them, and I experience their love. If you take time in your day to start a daily practice of going inward, you will also come to know and experience them, and if you don't do the daily practice, they're still with you. They are non-judgmental and love you no matter what.
